JohnWinterJohn Winter, Executive Director of the Rensselaer Land Trust since 2017, announced his resignation as of June 22, 2022. John will be the Executive Director of the New Canaan Connecticut Land Trust in his home state, near his elderly parents.

John saw the Rensselaer Land Trust through many transitions and supported our growth and maturity. John was instrumental in increasing our portfolio of protected properties from 1,262 acres to 1,964 acres. Additional land protection projects that John has initiated are underway and will continue.

The Board of Directors wishes John well in his future endeavors. The Board views the transition to a new Executive Director as an opportunity to assess our strategic goals and priorities going forward and has initiated a search for a new Executive Director.

Bob Crowley, Rensselaer Land Trust President, said “We are proud of the work John has done for the Rensselaer Land Trust, and will be forever grateful for his contributions. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
