Christine Young, Executive Director of the Rensselaer Land Trust since 2009, announced her resignation as of March 23, 2017, Christine expressed her desire to pursue personal goals and plans, and will devote more time to her law practice. She may continue to advise the Rensselaer Land Trust and to provide legal services as needed.
Since Christine became involved, the Land Trust has experienced unprecedented growth. Membership, grants, and other income have all more than doubled. She has been instrumental in increasing our portfolio of protected properties from 484 acres to 1263 acres. Additional land protection projects that Christine has initiated are underway and will continue.
The Board of Directors wishes Christine well in her future endeavours. The Board views the transition to a new Executive Director as an opportunity to assess our strategic goals and priorities going forward, and expects to initiate a search for a new Executive Director in a timely manner.
Kristina Younger, Rensselaer Land Trust President, said “We are proud of the work Christine has done for the Rensselaer Land Trust, and will be forever grateful for her contributions. She has been the face of the Rensselaer Land Trust for over eight years. We wish her well on her chosen path.”
The Rensselaer Land Trust is planning an event to celebrate Christine’s tenure and accomplishments in May, and will be sharing details as they become available.
