The Common Farms protected property is a 129.5 acre parcel of forested land bordering the Poestenkill Creek gorge on the western edge of the Rensselaer Plateau.  The Poestenkill Creek borders approximately 2,000 feet of the south side of the property.  The Davitt Pond outlet stream crosses the northeastern corner of the property.  It is forested with generally mature forest with a mix of oak and maple with some hemlocks at the lower elevations.  The property is commonly owned by the landowners of Common Farms and it is not open to the public.
